Evening with a nymph...

Hello,
Today, I want to post photos I've made few days ago. I wanted to make an outfit for  the NHK Kawaii International program but in the end, I didn't like this look enough to send the photo... Uhh, I really don't know why I thought wearing ankle socks with this outfit was a good idea... They kinda ruined the whole look >____< Also photos itself didn't turn out too good because they were made in the evening with cloudy weather and poor lighting. I really need to learn more about using my camera because very often, when I'm doing some photos outside I end up with very overexposed ones where I'm glowing like some ghostly apparition...

Here's example of  completely raw photo without any edition >___<  Maybe some of you my dear readers know how to prevent this from happening? My knowledge about photography is pretty limited and I would humbly accept any advices, so if you have any helpful ideas pleas share it with me (I'm using Sony Next- 5n camera) ^___^

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful weekend.

  1. It looks like you need to tweak the white balance on your camera because your shots are getting over exposed! I'm not sure what kind of camera you are using but it could be an aperture problem (you need to make your aperture smaller by using f/12-f/22 range).

  2. I have a nex-6 so it should be almost the same. But when I have problems with over exposure i often use creative filter (light intensity) or exposion setting to darker the picture a little. there's a symbol on my camera with a plus and a minus where you can reach this setting. You can try use it and see if it gets better. ( i don't know much about photographing either, but I'm learning, currently trying to understand aperture and its connection to the shutter.

As far as i understand the shutter decides how much light the camera will take in. So you can also try to change the shutter setting a little bit (make it shorter) so less light come into the lens. Use the S mode if you have one on your camera or M mode)

Like I said, I'm currently learning, so I could be wrong, or half way right, but it's worth a shot ^^ Do you use auto mode when you take your outfit pictures usually or do you use portrait mode or what do you use?

    1. Thank you soo much for your advices <3
We often try to set the exposition but sometimes camera gets crazy and first make too dark photos then after changing it just a little bit and they are too bright. It just doesn't like my light clothing at all >____<
Next time I must check what shutter settings are on and maybe try to change it (though I think my husband does this too). I hope, I'll be able to tame my camera eventually hi hi ^___^

  4. I still love your outfit*-* did you send another picture? I think you would easily win;-; you're so pretty and your outfits always look good.
I don't have any idea about the pictures, but my bf always changes the white balance settings when they are too bright/overexposed.

Yes, I've send another photo, I wonder if I will be lucky enough to be mentioned in the next episode. Though there's so many good looking people with great style who watch this show, so I think can be hard ^___^

  6. Hi!
I just found you blog today and I really like it! I like your style and I adore your hair! I wasn't sure if I wanted to grow my hair longer (it's at my waist in the front), but seeing your hair really made me inspired.
As for photography, cloudy days are usually very good for taking photos because it's easier to predict the result and there'll be no nasty shadows in your face. I really like these photos. Overexposure is very easy to get when you take photos outside on a sunny day. I would recommend taking photos outside on cloudy days. :)

I'll be following you on bloglovin! :)
